Flats Suck

Thursday night is Tour De Burbs for me. Bit over an hour of riding with a few nice hills to raise the heatrate. Throw in a big crew of riders all willing to smash it in the dog and you got the closest thing to a road race or crit I'm ever going to do.

Looking forward to it all day, remaining optimistic as the rain drenched the streets for most of the morning. Even the rain at 5pm couldn't deter me as all the Spoke(n) regulars pulled the pin.. I rolled to the meeting point happily dry(mudguards rule) and with no one there I decided to cruise the Kew Boulevard.

Half way back that familiar bouncy, rim smacking feeling from the back of the bike. Flat.

The universal symbol of surrender.... Roadbike upside down. No chance of getting on the ride now. I'm hoping that no one else showed.
So, what now. Ride home. Extend the ride a little but cause I now have no spares better to get home.
100m from home..... pshhhhhhhh. down again.
Guess it was never meant to be.
